According to the Vital Records Index, Joseph was christened in Habergham Eaves on the 29th November 1868.

The 1871 Census shows Joseph as 2 years old, the 1881 Census shows him as a scholar aged 12 and in the 1891 Census he is a weaver aged 22.

Joseph married Elizabeth (Eliza) Jane Wilkinson (FM248) (b.c.1866) on the 11th September 1900 at Saint Matthew's in Burnley (VRI). We think that they had a son called Vivien but have yet to confirm this.

Joseph died on 25th December 1931 aged 63.
